Aerleum plans to turn CO2 directly into fuel for cargo ships and, eventually, airplanes

A new startup, Aerleum, aims to revolutionize direct air capture of carbon dioxide by transforming it into methanol in a single process. The company has raised $6 million in seed funding to develop its technology, which uses a proprietary material to absorb CO2 and convert it to methanol, potentially reducing costs to $650 per metric ton within five years.
