Zed editor now supports extensions that add custom slash commands to pull context from external data sources into AI conversations. This new feature, based on the Model Context Protocol, allows users to seamlessly incorporate database schemas, analytics, and other project-related information without leaving the editor, improving efficiency in AI-assisted coding tasks.
