MCP is dead. Long live the CLI

Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP) promised cleaner LLM-service integration, but major AI platforms like OpenClaw and Pi are skipping support. The protocol adds unnecessary complexity when LLMs already excel at using command-line tools directly. CLIs offer better composability, debugging, authentication, and reliability than MCP servers, making the protocol largely redundant for most use cases.
