Apple employees built an LLM that taught itself to produce good user interface code

Apple researchers developed UICoder, an AI model that learned to write functional SwiftUI code despite having almost no Swift examples in its initial training data. Through a five-cycle feedback loop where the model generated code, tested it for functionality, and retrained on successful outputs, it created nearly one million working SwiftUI programs and outperformed GPT-4 in compilation success rates.
