Amazon's AI copilot, Q Developer, has dramatically improved software development efficiency. The company converted 30,000 applications from Java 8/11 to Java 17 in a fraction of the time it previously took, saving an estimated 4,500 years of development work and $260 million annually. Q Developer supports the entire software development lifecycle, offering features like code completion, security scanning, and natural language prompts for building new features. It currently supports 15 programming languages and is available in free and paid enterprise tiers.
