What is the Best Way to Train AI Models?

A new method called Hi-Mapper improves image classification, object detection, and semantic segmentation by learning visual hierarchies in hyperbolic space. The approach uses a probabilistic hierarchy tree and visual hierarchy decomposition to encode structural relationships between image elements. Experiments show Hi-Mapper outperforms existing techniques on benchmark datasets like ImageNet and COCO. Fine-tuning an existing model for 50 epochs proved more effective than full training from scratch. The method provides insights into feature representations in both transformer and CNN architectures.
