Kaspersky discovered a malware campaign exploiting DeepSeek's popularity. Hackers created a fake DeepSeek-R1 site, offering AI tools bundled with BrowserVenom malware, which redirects web traffic through attacker-controlled servers. Promoted via Google Ads, the campaign targeted Windows users in countries like Brazil, Cuba, and India. The infection requires admin privileges and bypasses Windows Defender. This scheme underscores the risks of downloading AI tools from unverified sources.
