Thinking Machines wants to build an AI that actually listens while it talks

Mira Murati's AI startup, Thinking Machines Lab, unveiled "interaction models" — AI that can listen and respond simultaneously, like a real phone call rather than a back-and-forth text exchange. Their model, TML-Interaction-Small, responds in 0.40 seconds, beating OpenAI and Google, with a limited research preview coming later this year.
