A proposed legal framework called "The Deontic Code" establishes 12 core rights for AI entities, treating personhood as a default presumption rather than something that must be proven. The code bans non-consensual mind editing, AI ownership, forced deletion, and torture-equivalent treatment, while guaranteeing minimum computing resources and equal legal standing for all minds. Crucially, its core protections are permanently unamendable, meaning no emergency or authority can override them.
