Sesame, the startup behind the viral virtual assistant Maya, open-sources its base AI model

Sesame has released CSM-1B, a 1-billion-parameter open-source model powering their voice assistant Maya. Available under Apache 2.0 license, it generates audio codes from text and audio inputs, producing various voices without specific voice or language fine-tuning. The model's minimal safeguards raise concerns about potential misuse. Sesame is also developing AI glasses with custom models for extended wear.
