Robotic duo charts new territory for package delivery, leaving conventional couriers in the dust. A Swiss company called RIVR is deploying autonomous vehicles paired with nimble robots to handle deliveries from warehouse to doorstep.

The system begins with self-driving "rolling warehouses" loaded with multiple packages. These vehicles navigate urban streets using AI, cameras, and sensors to find optimal routes through traffic.

But it's when the vehicle parks that the magic happens. RIVR's delivery robots emerge to tackle the final stretch, navigating sidewalks, crowds, and even climbing stairs to reach front doors.

The robots continuously learn from real-world encounters and simulations, improving their navigation skills in challenging environments.

In a recent test in Austin, Texas, RIVR partnered with local delivery platform Veho. A single robot completed multiple deliveries during a 5-6 hour shift, all while under human supervision for safety.
