OpenAI just killed its Sora AI video creation app

OpenAI launched its Sora AI video creation app in September as its second iPhone app, featuring unlimited video generation from text prompts and a social media feed. However, the company quickly implemented strict restrictions around intellectual property usage, which severely limited the app's functionality and appeal. Due to poor user adoption and OpenAI's shift toward developing a super app combining ChatGPT and other tools, Sora is being discontinued entirely, with OpenAI reportedly ending all video AI model efforts.
