New AI tool predicts cancer spread with surprising accuracy

University of Geneva researchers developed MangroveGS, an AI tool that analyzes hundreds of gene expression patterns in cancer cells to predict metastasis risk with nearly 80% accuracy across multiple cancer types including colon, breast, and lung cancers. The breakthrough could enable more personalized treatment by identifying high-risk patients while avoiding overtreatment of low-risk cases.
