Meet M6: The Chinese AI That Understands Text and Images at Scale

Alibaba and Tsinghua University researchers developed M6, a massive Chinese AI system that processes both text and images by training on the world's largest Chinese multimodal dataset containing 1.9TB of images and 292GB of text. The system scales up to 100 billion parameters and demonstrates superior performance across various tasks, beating strong competitors by significant margins in visual question answering, image captioning, and text-to-image generation capabilities.
