Google’s AI model is getting really good at spoofing phone photos

Google's new AI model Nano Banana Pro generates images so realistic they're nearly impossible to distinguish from actual smartphone photos. The AI mimics key phone camera characteristics including flat exposure, aggressive sharpening, and sensor noise that make photos appear authentic rather than artificially perfect. Most concerning, the model adds unprompted contextual details like real estate watermarks and period-appropriate elements, making fake images extremely convincing and signaling that distinguishing AI-generated content from real photos is now critically difficult.
