Getting Started With CodeGate, an Intermediary for LLM Devs

CodeGate is an open-source security solution acting as an intermediary between developers and AI coding assistants. It encrypts sensitive information in prompts, protects privacy, and augments AI knowledge with current risk insights. Currently, CodeGate focuses on identifying insecure package suggestions and preventing internal information exposure. Though in early stages, it shows promise for enhancing security with AI coding tools. Setup involves running CodeGate locally via Docker and configuring it for Visual Studio Code and GitHub Copilot.
