"AI polls" are fake polls

Companies like Aaru and Electric Twin are using AI language models to create "synthetic polls" by having AI agents simulate survey responses instead of asking real people, with some firms claiming these fake respondents can predict elections better than traditional polling. While these AI-generated surveys can replicate basic poll results more quickly and cheaply, they fundamentally produce no new data about public opinion and struggle with nuanced issues like detecting racism or capturing complex voter behavior.
